Building Bridges helps young people (14 to 21 years of age) living with a developmental disability to plan for the transition from high school to life in their community after graduation.

This service is offered in Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton.

Building Bridges supports young people and their families to:

  • Plan for life after high school
  • To assist young people in transitioning from school to community
  • To foster meaningful and inclusive participation and connections in the community.
  • Understand the need for and importance of work experience.
  • Apply for funding.
  • Navigate the social service, health and education systems.
  • Connection to post-secondary education opportunities.

To Access Services:

The Building Bridges program is funded through MCCSS with referrals coming through Developmental Services Ontario (DSO). For more information, please contact the DSO at www.dsontario.ca and let them know that you are interested in supports from Community Living Trent Highlands.
