Facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience and support recovery from mental illness and addiction.Offers a wide range of programs, serving clients aged 12 and up on-site at several locations across York Region and South Simcoe, as well as remotely and in community settings.Also provides mental health education and training programs to organizations looking to build knowledge, skills and resilience in their teams.Programs delivered specifically at CMHA Alliston include:

Youth (Ages 12-25):

  • BounceBack Ontario (15+) - BounceBack Ontario is a free and confidential program for individuals 15 and up experiencing stress, anxiety or low mood.
  • Gender Affirming Health Clinic (12+) - The Gender Affirming Health Clinic (GAHC) is a free service that aims to create a safe, confidential, and inclusive space across all gender diversities.
  • H.O.P.E. Early Psychosis Intervention (14-35) - Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Program available throughout York Region and South Simcoe.
  • Individualized Care - Counselling and case management support offers a safe space to talk about anything on your mind, from anxiety and depression to peer pressure or thoughts of suicide. Referral is required.
  • Mental Health and Justice Youth (12-17) - The Mental Health and Justice Program provides case management and court support to those with mental health concerns who are involved in the criminal justice system, both virtually and in-person.
  • MOBYSS (12-25) - Mobile bus that brings free, confidential, and walk-in mental and physical health support directly to youth in a safe and welcoming environment. No referral needed for mental health counselling or nurse practitioner appointments.
  • Newcomer's Health and Well-Being (12+) - Newcomers' Health and Well-Being provides mental health and primary care services to newcomers 12 years of age or older in York Region and South Simcoe who have physical and mental health concerns.

Adult (Ages 16+):

  • Assertive Community Treatment Teams (16+) - The Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) is a client-centred, recovery oriented mental health service which offers a broad range of intensive community supports to individuals experiencing mental health concerns and their families, in order to reach their recovery goals.
  • Case Management (16+) - Our Case Management program operates using a 6-month service delivery model and works in partnership with individuals to identify areas of strength and determine areas of need.
  • Clinical Therapy (18+) - The Clinical Therapy Program is a group-based program that helps people with serious mental health issues to be more successful in day-to-day living, by utilizing different forms of psychotherapy to help clients explore and manage unhelpful thoughts, overwhelming/difficult emotions, and problematic behaviours with the support of our team of Clinical Therapists.
  • Community Connections (16+) - We provide free mental health workshops, opportunities for socialization and participation in fun activities.
  • Community Homes for Opportunity (16+) - Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO) provides tenants with recovery oriented supportive housing that can offer up to 24/7 supports services to maintain housing stability.
  • Community Transitions Team (16+) - The Community Transitions Team is a hospital diversion program, which assists clients with a safe and smooth transition from hospital into the community with the ultimate goal of preventing further hospital visits.
  • Employment Program (16+) - The Employment Program provides support with individualized employment searches based on individual interests, goals, previous work experience and education.
  • Flexible Support Program (16+) - Flexible Support program assists individuals that require support with their housing concerns and who may be experiencing homelessness or are precariously housed.

  • Home First Community Support Program (16+) - The Home First Community Support Team provides services and supports for those who are experiencing homelessness in York Region and South Simcoe and includes the following programs:

  • Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP) (18+) - Free therapy support to improve mental wellness.
  • Psychogeritric Case Management - Provides a multi-disciplinary team of community clinicians that support older adults who are experiencing a new or functional decline related to mental health or cognitive changes.
  • Rapid Access Psychotherapy (16+) - Rapid Access Psychiatry (RAP) is an evidence-based model of service for individuals ages 16+ with mild-to-moderate depression and anxiety. The program provides individuals with an opportunity to attend a single appointment psychiatric consultation followed by a report with recommendations for treatment.
  • Substance Treatment, Recovery, and Empowerment for addicition Management (16+) - STREAM is a comprehensive community addictions program that supports individuals who use substances and face mental health challenges.
  • Support for Anxiety (16+) - Support for Anxiety offers free group support that helps individuals who are experiencing or have experienced anxiety, either on their own or in conjunction with other mental illnesses, such as OCD.
  • Support for Depression (16+) - Support for Depression helps individuals who are experiencing or have experienced depression, either on their own or in conjunction with other mental illnesses, such as bipolar disorder, anxiety or OCD.
  • Telemedicine - We help clients, their physicians and healthcare providers connect virtually through the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN). Nursing support is available upon request.

Families and Caregivers:

  • Family Caregiver Education Group - The Family Caregiver Education Program provides 10 weeks of education for families and caregivers on the topics of pharmacy, case management, boundaries, communication and more.
  • Family Support Group - The Family Support Group assists families and caregivers to increase their knowledge of mental illnesses, get support and obtain the tools they need to make informed decisions. It is designed strictly for family members and caregivers caring for a loved one with mental illness.
